Devin Nunes, in his dumbness, sabotaged the group he chairs
That’s the House Intel Committee chaired, as well, by Adam Schiff
Devin said he got Intel stating Trumpees’ names were there
Incidentally popping up among some Intel probes of stuff

Devin ran to tell Paul Ryan, who appointed him the chair
Then to Trump and to reporters, shutting out his very team
Trump used this to justify as evidence his tweets weren’t bare
Even though their subject, time and place were off, it seemed

Schiff was livid, his committee’s independence was abridged
Historically bipartisan, this jeopardized its secret stuff
Nunes must resign, recuse, or of his chairmanship be stripped
By Speaker Ryan, even though, ’tis likely Ryan set this up

The questions: why now, why to bypass Schiff in such a rush
And why to run to Ryan and especially to Trump?
Trump’s the subject of investigation. Data should be hush
What might be the rationale behind this data dump?

I conjecture Ryan’s desperate, pushing through his health-care bill
He needs Trump to rally Tea-ers but Trump’s favor rating’s low
So to help Trump build esteem, requested Nunes search Intel;
There to locate anything connecting Trump with tapping phones

Paul’s crucial vote was on the morrow, got to broadcast this today
So Trump can claim some vindication of his stupid, lying tweets
All before the roll-call vote, which I don’t think will go his way
Meanwhile Nunes compromised himself and should resign, at least retreat

My model year is 1933.
They’re put together differently these days
The models made today appear to run and run and run
But don’t forget
Back then the parts, they didn’t last that long
Without some form of tuneup now and then

Well, you guessed it. Here I am
In one of. Tucson’s local tuneup shops

What will they do?
Well, first of all they’ll check my sparking timing
My spark plugs got a bit of crud by firing away
A bit too early and a bit too late
My radiator overheated some; they’ve got to clear all pipes
And flush the radiator, helping it take in more air
The battery needs a charge and then the belts they’ll tighten too
Sometimes on pressing on the breaks we weave and swerve a bit
They’ll have to pay attention to that too
Exhaust could use a muffler, but the dipstick’s doing fine

So I’ll not write much poelitics o’er the next few days
That doesn’t mean there ain’t much there to say
‘Bout POTUS, SCOTUS, FBI and more
All dark and deep as politics can be
And with this latest tuneup
I’ve got miles to go before I heap

The poem posted yesterday,
Detailing my assumptions on
Where KJ-un’s real goals might lay
He balks at being put upon

Kim is vicious in his place
Killed his generals, one was bad,
Then in Feb, no sense disgrace
He killed half-brother Kim Jong-nam

So, what should be our strategy
Our goals related to Kim’s aims
For years our goal, disastrously,
Was halt his nuke ambition claims

My path proposed is radical
Rejecting State Department norms
I think it’s far more practical
Unprejudiced by concepts worn

Tomorrow, later in the day

Kim Jong-un’s prepared for war
Some doubt his rationality
Each passing year, he’s ready more
His goal reveals his sanity

A uniform peninsula
No North, no South, Korea whole
No foreign force, no DMZ
All under Kim Jong-un’s control

How to achieve this lofty aim?
The Super Powers feed him lies
Gaddafi bought into their game
Removed his nukes, ‘fore long he dies

He must improve technologies
To threaten South and East and West
With increased capabilities
They’ll have to treat him with respect

In walks Sec. Rex Tillerson
Espousing Pres. Obama’s line
We’ll do whatever need be done
If that won’t work, then force is fine

To Kim these are just hollow bluffs
What can they do? More sanctions place?
By now Kim’s heard these threats enough
They drive him to increase his pace

Like fools that rush, no angel’s been
I have suggestions I would might say
That sound less like a hollow tin
But that can wait another day

The Rachel Maddow show, tonight, was all about Trump’s 2005 1040, first 2 pages, which mysteriously showed up in David K Johnson’s mail box.

Tax Return

The news, tonight, was all about Trump’s tax-return release
For year Two thousand, five, ten-ninety form, page one, page two
The pundits all digesting it like lions at a feast
To glean each little insight into businesses askew

‘Though interesting, these tidbits, they treat not my major questions
I would like to know why now and why release this date
The persons sourcing this release, anonymous, I’ll mention
Is this the latest they possess? Why, then, not more of late?

My answer is the source was Trump: reporters to divert
There’s nothing damaging to Trump, the pickings there are rare
But news tonight was not on Russian ties that could subvert
Trump’s office as legitimate. It is Trump’s biggest fear

Jared, a follower of the BLOG, suggested a speech by the new UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres (former Portuguese PM) on Holocaust remembrance.  It was the inspiration for this poelitic.

Antisemitism

A Semite is a person who’s descendants spoke Semitic:
Acadian, Phoenician, Arabic and Hebrew too
Derived from Shem, the son of Noah of the Flood horrific
But antisemitism speaks exclusively of Jews

Six thousand years we have survived attempts to wipe us out
We’ve been despised and criticized and blamed for things untrue
Enslaved, dispersed, expelled and hated centuries throughout
When un-suppressed we’ve thrived in fields permitted for the Jews

The holocaust of modern times, six million Jews were slain
And from their ashes Israel then struggled to existence
World Jewry vowed the Holocaust would happen not again
Wherever prejudice arose we’d meet it with resistance

Here in the USA, of late, the Jews are not reviled
In science, arts and business we have ranked among the best
We’re also strong politically on both sides of the isle
But now that Trump is President, ’twill be another test

Supporting Trump are those who view minorities with hate
And Trump’s subdued rejection only gives encouragement
To anti-Muslim, anti-Jewish acts throughout the States
And in the Western World on ethnic purity they’re bent

Steve King, and Bannon, David Duke and Breitbart’s publication
All xenophobic sociopaths who loath diversity
They think to be American is passed through blood relations
Instead it’s love of nation forged by great adversity

‘Though antisemitism’s ancient it”s alive today
It’s vital that we stop its spread, as fueled by trying times
Where Jews have been suppressed the nations end up in decay
We must oppose it actively; our future’s on the line

I speak to those, my readership, your family, your friends
Who are true blue Republicans, conservatives of old
Who favor fiscal policies reversing current trends
That deepen more our nation’s debt; don’t buy what you’ve been told

I speak to those who favor smaller governmental size
Departments that are chaired by experts fitting to the part
With officers and bureaucrats efficient, smart and wise
Except Defense, Trump’s Cabinet’s a monolithic farce

Like me, most you are middle class, you’re reasonably set
You’re on, or looking forward to Soc Sec and Medicare
You are, that much, a socialist; you like the safety net
The bill replacing ACA is something to beware

Do you recall before the ACA was brought on board
That Year on year insurance rates increased by digits double
They grew our health-care costs beyond what people could afford
This Trump-care bill will raise our debt and rates; it’s greater trouble

Republicans, like Democrats, respect the Constitution
Which Trump is trampling every day that he’s still in the White House
It’s time to join our energies in common-cause submission
And oust this clear and present danger; just impeach him out
