Deep Throat

We witnessed a modern Deep Throat in the Times
Anonymous person(s) who wrote an Op Ed
Ranked as Trump’s “senior staff”, writing so fine
A blistering narrative, staffers in dread

Of Trump; he’s erratic, impulsive and mad
He’s losing his memory, losing his mind
Extreme paranoia, the outlook is bad
Unfit to be President, that’s what he finds

Of course all the pundits of cable and Press
Are focusing, figuring who Deep Throat be
And, too, in the West Wing they frantically guess
But senior staff members all say: “It’s not me!”

Deep Throat also said there are others like him
They’re acting as guard rails containing the man
They countermand orders ignoring his whims
To maintain good governance, given they can

Some say he’s a coward, that he should resign
Trump labeled him gutless, a traitor and worse
Some claim: “nothing new, we’ve known that for some time”
But no one has claimed false his chapter and verse

The evidence mounts Trump is unfit to serve
While, behind his back his staff’s running the show
The country’s in danger, Deep Throat must be heard
Help! Help! he is shouting; this man’s got to go!

And where is the outcry from Congress? I ask
Whose silence is deafening. Courage? What’s that?
There’s only one way we can take Trump to task
To vote the Reps. out in November, that’s what!

Judge Brett Kavanaugh

At his hearings Judge Kavanaugh gave a good speech
Filled with what for-SCOTUS candidates preach
Up holding not molding the laws of the land
He’d be non political where he would stand

He spoke as a son, as his daughters’ dad too
As coach for their basketball team as dads do
His teaching, his interns, an all-around guy
But refused to shake hands with Fred Guttenberg. Why?

Fred’s young daughter, Jamie, at Parkland was killed
But Brett is opposed to all gun-safety bills
His archly-conservative writings reveal
How much his case judgements partook of his zeal

One paper he published concerned prexy power
It’s why Trump had chosen him, there in Trump Tower
He claimed current precedence badly was flawed
A person, while President’s above the law

His hearings, this morning, chaotic and frayed
The Democrats, fuming all called for delay
Reports, more than one hundred thousand, were hid
From Dems. about actions that Kavanaugh did

As Counsel to Bush through the war in Iraq
And claims he had made not born out by the facts
But Grassly refused and the show will go on
The hearing’s a travesty, Trumpean con

Our President mired in felonious deeds
Selected a candidate based on his needs
For someone who’d save him when he came to trial
With Reps. rushing hearings o’er such a short while

Buried Today

A national hero was buried today
Hallelujah and Amen
Not only a hero but also a man
Who’s life was of honor and serving the land
That he loved so much; in her grace he did stay
Hallelujah and Amen

A national statesman was buried today
Hallelujah and Amen
All those in the Senate, when he made a stand,
All knew he was honest, with lines in the sand
Not voting convenience; that wasn’t his way
Hallelujah and Amen

A man twice defeated was buried today
Hallelujah and Amen
To Presidents Bush and Obama he lost
In dignity praised them at personal cost
And chose them for eulogies memorial day
Hallelujah and Amen

My very own senator to rest was lain
Hallelujah and Amen
‘Though not of my party; I disagreed much
He, still I respected, his down to earth touch
God bless you and keep you Sen. John McCain
Hallelujah and Amen

SF-86

SF-86

Ms. Abigail Spanberger, a new candidate for Congress
Who had worked within the secrets of our nation’s C.I.A.
Whose clearance application form, her SF-86,
Was unredactedly released, to Abigail’s dismay

Responding to a FOIA, U.S.P.S. let it go
Within three weeks Paul Ryan’s PAC released it to the Press
An SF-86 contains one’s personal info
It’s not to be released based on a FOIA sourced request

The Postal Service showed remorse; it was a big mistake
They’ll guard against it happening again, but by the way
They’d also sent out forms on other Demo. candidates
Who’d worked in jobs requiring clearance like the C.I.A.

I know the form, I’ve filled it out on more than one occasion
There’s little info when completed not already known
And she who’s clearance is approved, it takes no great persuasion
To recognize she’s squeaky clean; her closet’s bare of bones

So, Ryan PAC, what did you find that made this worth your while?
That Abigail had substituted for an English teacher
At a Moslem school. Big deal! Will voters change their style?
If dirt you want that source is poor; your findings will be meager

565

Five hundred sixty five young children un-united
With parents who had journeyed seeking here asylum
Among two thousand folks of whom Trump had decided
To kidnap all their kids and send their folks back home

That was the Prexy’s plan, unfeeling, inhumane
The suffering Trump wrought, the damage to those kids
Incapable Trump is at feeling other’s pain
But people plus the courts are nixing what Trump did

Still hundreds of these kids have yet to see their mothers
And government officials, court ordered to unite
These children with their loved ones, react like it’s a bother
The process is so slow there is no end in sight

Meanwhile Trump’s all consumed about the Mueller probe
His “loyal” friends who’ve flipped, his sensed impending doom
The hurtful Press he gets from all around the Globe
For children in distress his heart just has no room

A Finger

Trump touched to his noggin a finger
His eyes intense slits and unblinking
Regarding the market this zinger:
‘Twill crash hard “without this [my] thinking “

Impeachment was strong on Trump’s mind
Expecting the Dems. soon to win
The mid-terms with Reps. well behind
Thus, bringing more Democrats in

The grounds for impeachment are real
Since Trump co-conspirator was named
In felonies that he concealed
For this he would surely be blamed

The market for stocks is near peaks
Peaks that are true all-time highs
Although over-bought, as I speak,
It’s due for correction time nigh

Trump’s right that he aided the rally
Of stocks since he came into office
His tax bill supplied the rich money
To buy stocks on which they made profit

But now many investors are uneasy
Politics Trump are viewed: being iffy
They’ve caused recent increased volatility
The stock bubble could collapse in a jiffy

So again Trump is right in his comment
Should removal from office really happen
Bubble burst could be triggered that moment
Or time sooner or later but ‘twill happen

So yes, Trump can point to his temple
And credit stock peaks to his thinking
While evidence gathers that’s ample
To land Trump, ere long in the clinker

Historical Day

Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen
Made history today in their courtrooms
Both guilty of felony charges
But one of them really looms largest
Precursor of Donald Trump’s doom
And to Stormy Daniels ‘tis owing

When Cohen recounted his crimes,
The eight crimes he’d pled guilty to,
The two – paying women hush money
To quell their risqué testimony –
Were ordered by Trump his to do
Crimes for which he will have to do time

Michael Cohen spoke in court under oath
When he told what Trump did, to the judge
Trump was now coconspirator in these acts
There are records to back up these facts
But The GOP Congress won’t budge
They are clueless or spineless or both

No matter the tweets Trump may send
Today was the start of Trump’s end

Putin’s Trump Payback

I’m reading a book by Craig Unger
It’s named: “House of Trump House of Putin”
It describes thirty years Trump’s been under
The auspice of Russian collusion

The book’s filled with firm, detailed reference
Describing Trump’s swift transformation
From being a “person of interest”
To being an “asset” in station

An asset who now is our president
A feat beyond what they believed
That even with their actions pertinent
Was likely for them to achieve

But credit they take and Trump knows it
Without them Trump’s loss would be real
‘Though publicly Trump does deny it
His job’s to pay back for the deal

So what, then, are Putin’s demands
For payback by Trump with his power?
First, sanctions Trump has to remand
Then alter the national order:

Cause NATO to fracture, diminishing,
Support right-wing movements for dominance,
The E.U. to break up, and finishing
Democracy’s role in world prominence,

And also foment world trade wars,
Do little against cyber acts,
Degrade our intelligence corps, …
All these are Vlad Putin’s Trump payback

Trump’s Behavior

Historically what are we witnessing when watching Trump’s recent behaviors?
A man who’s becoming increasingly afraid in the midst of his failures
His failure to silence his critics who’ve grown this past season by legions
His failure to oust Robert Mueller pursuing him on beyond reason

The noose ‘round his neck’s getting tighter. Conviction, the first will occur
In the Manafort trial by Mueller, making Trump all the more insecure
And vindictive against his opponents, vile language, degrading to utter
Too, John Brennan’s top clearance he cancelled but John’s neither cowed nor a quitter

I do recognize Trump’s gross behavior: he’s a man stressed beyond tolerance
Who regards autocratic demeanor as his means to reduce over-stress
He is sick in the head, say detractors. His responses erratic and slow
I can guess how he’ll be after mid-terms, his unfitness to serve, more will show

But Republicans most turn a blind eye to Trump’s blatant grabbing of power
His corruptions, the staff’s and his Cabinet’s they ignore fearing tweets of displeasure
But when Trump is relieved from his office as will happen time sooner than later
They will claim they were really against Trump and their vote record’s all that should matter

The Near Future

What’s near in the future where Mueller’s concerned
He’s hot in pursuit of buffoon Roger Stone
Buffoon in appearance but smart, I’ve discerned
Been buddies with Trump since their youth, it is known

And next maybe Junior; he’s got a strong case
Which may, then, force Senior to sit down and talk
At last with Bob Mueller, to meet face to face
And work out a deal so Trump’s son’s free to walk

All this takes its time, Mueller really must hurry
Since neither Trump mid term is up for election
The probe can go on through elections, no worry
But Reps. have a plan for their pet predilection

A plan to oust Mueller right after the mid terms
Since they don’t expect that the House they’ll retain
While they are lame ducks (it’s more likely, lame worms)
They’ll vote to impeach Rosenstein in disdain

Once he is gone Trump can place there a crony
As Temp. Dep. AG so to get Mueller fired
With all Mueller’s probe, based on rationale phony,
Erasing the evidence he has acquired

I don’t give much credence or chance of succeeding
But one never knows; politics just aren’t sane
So Mueller, this time frame, he might well be heeding
Ensuring his efforts won’t all be in vain
