What options has Trump now that he’s a very weak lame duck?
One, he could sign the bill, acknowledging his lousy luck
Two, he could stall his signing so the bill’s in limbo stuck
Three, he could sign and seek asylum where the Saudi Prince is pluck

He’s thirty days to do what ever he is want do
And meanwhile in the wings JD is very active too
A Cabinet to choose, he must decide on who is who
As candidates line up, I’m sure they number not a few

But let’s be very cautious here, real danger time is now
There’s no one at the helm to steer; we’re agile as a milking cow
Like China could aggressive be; attack us in the China Sea
No orders coming from on high; confused our generals surely be

Trump’s options do evoke, each one, a different response
The first would bring true order, President, one J. D. Vance
The second choice would bring impeachment, guilty highest chance
Most likely choice is three, asylum, warranting no victory dance

The Epstein files will sooner be released
And Trump will furious fight no effort ceased
So powerful these files, an ugly beast
Trump’s time in office surely has decreased

The beast will chew Trump up and spit him out
His former guards will find they’re void of clout
What’s left of Trump, an old man full of doubt
Most influential man that daily walks about

Trump feels the Noble prize for peace is his
He wants the title, not to mend what is
His life unique, he gathers titles, which define him
Randomly he makes decisions on a whim

How then remembered will Don Trump’s name be?
To some the greatest man this century
To others he’s the worst we’re going to see
A titled man, which is his legacy

The name, Don Trump will disappear
Its happen time may be quite near
Nor will his MAGA shed a tear

Please close your doors before you leave
And all belongs please retrieve
Not seeing you, what a relief
Your time in lime gone like a thief

Now you and Usha, White House residents,
Your main concern is family growth intent
You spend your nights at making kids Hell bent

The country will be different run by you
Conservative in everything you do

It’s been a while but Senators today all had their say
They voted; true, they really did; it was an unique day
In spite of Demo. opposition, Senate voted yeah
Eight Demo. Senators all voted yes no pirates loose today

The pirates of the Caribbean, filibusteros by name
They’d raid the ships so merchants waited, waited for their goods ln vain
Now sixty votes the Senate needs, a vote procedural to gain
The opportunity to vote the actual bill. I can’t explain

The rationale to have a vote, to have a vote. It makes no sense
The first bill is procedural, the one that’s filibustered, hence
So why not vote the real bill. Filibuster it? Perhaps I’m dense
We’re back to pirates of the Caribbean, only in the present tense

Who Needs This Government?

So what is government? You ask
I can describe what used to be
The Pres., his Vice, his Cabinet
Who administered the allocated cash
That Congress voted into law

So what has government become
Since Trump became the President?
A Cabinet of gross incompetence

The House now under Trump’s control
Who spends his days just playing golf
While canceling good social programs
His Cabinet disfunctional
At least the workers did get paid

Perhaps we’re better off
Now that this government has shut down
Except for worker’s wages
We don’t need the switch turned on

Tariffs, darling of the day, the month, the every year
They are Trump’s public way to punish countries far and near
It makes them pay the tariff just to trade with Uncle Sam
And if they like it not, Tump doesn’t give a good goddamn

Of course that’s not the way that tariffs really operate
They clearly are a tax on us; of that there’s really no debate
So why are countries threatened such that they’ll negotiate
It’s competition wanted not. Their prices soaring out of date

This leverage is to Trump’s advantage. He applies it as a threat
Do his bidding or he’ll raise your tariffs higher, higher yet
Apparently, so far it’s worked; the target countries caused to fret
And Trump, meanwhile, his face a smirk; he’ll take whatever he can get

Whether Trump is cognizant how tariffs work, it matters not
He does his thing. It works for him and puts his targets on the spot
And he’ll continue, while it works. There is no reason he should stop
And tariffs will continue as though day, month, year they’re hot

Seven million marchers! We will never have a king.
Loud and clear this message came across.
To he who would, desiring such,
Your efforts won’t avail you much
You’ll find they’re always at a loss.
So being king will never be your thing

This time with Trump as President, ‘though difficult
May have been necessary, growth be done
Tear down an ailing entity
To build it back in purity
Taught in beginning philosophy, course one-o-one
It’s time to start rebuilding, mending faults

We see a future, post Trump time quite clear
Where laws have power, too, our Constitution
Where justice reigns for everyone
Our Court Supreme, when all’s said and done
Decides the legal issues of the nation
And children go to sleep full free of fear

Five million marchers, and likely more yet
This Saturday’s NO KINGS widespread demonstrations
Hundreds of cities and towns of the nation
Holding their own truly heart-felt events

This will, historically, likely be
The nation’s largest of demos to date
Its telling the President that it’s not his fate
To become our first king such that we’d not be free

And how to interpret this massive outpouring
Antipathy toward kings lies down deep in the soul
Of the nation. Let others take heed; we should not be their goal
We march with our spirits adjoining and soaring

Set free today, all the Hamas held hostages
President Trump played a positive role
He and the Egyptian Pres. traded messages
Freeing the hostages was their clear goal

There’s plenty of evidence Trump’s not all there
He cannot recall even major events
Without mixing names, dates, and what took place where
One often can’t fathom what he really meant

And so I gave credit for where credit is due
In such an inferior state that he’s in
To pull off the hostage release, the full queue
I say to Trump yay, yay; these kudos you’ve won

Depressing it is to watch government freeze
And nobody cares; seems they don’t give a hoot
Republicans act or don’t, Don Trump to please
While Dems. in perpetual state of can’t do.

So, what does it indicate, end of the day?
Our leaders are dead to the pain they inflict
The state of the country to them is okay
They stand by decisions, the ones that they picked

So what are we simple folks simply to do?
Stand by and let leadership lead not as well?
Time to stop letting them all of us screw
So shout to your Senators; raise lots of hell
