The Raven

Once, my life was bright and cheery
Not so now, my eyes are bleary
Reading sheafs of legal briefs
Most of which I’ve read before
Napping ‘gainst the closet door

While I sat there nearly napping
Law books scattered o’er the floor
Shadows started window dancing
I heard ravens’ wings all flapping
Plus commotion out my door

‘Tis the wind and nothing more

Soon the sounds raised to a clatter
Had to see just what’s the matter

I, astounded, my heart pounded
MAGA mob outside my door
Judge we hate you;
We beseech you
Change your rulings from before
If you won’t then we’ll impeach you
You will be a judge no more

Though they scared me with their raving
No intention I for caving
All my rulings based on law and precedent

Their behavior is the climate we are in
If we don’t our judgments alter
MAGA’s efforts sure will falter
In the long run they will lose; and we will win
