Dear Senator, dear Congressman Republican you now may be
But every time you’re head your bow to Donald Trump and bend the knee
Because you’re scared of what he’ll do
At Primaries and black-ball you
Your power slowly leaks to Trump
He gathers it from all you chumps
Republican in name you’ll be, but hollow as an empty shell
Your pledge, was that to Donald Trump? Is that your vision of yourself?
Trump’s choices of his nominees for senior governmental slots
Deliberately his sycophants who’ll do his bidding matters not
What’s legal, constitutional
The government un-functional
Is Donald’s goal – so he can be
Dictator – as he he wants to be
But that’s not all; he wants subservience of Congress totally
Dear Senator, dear Congressman it’s up to you to guard democracy

Month: November 2024
November Six, One AM
It looks like we’re in for a bumpy four years
My prognostications were clearly all wrong
I gave we the people more credit, I fear
Than we all deserved; I was wrong all along
Kamala ran a near perfect campaign
The contrast was obvious there is no doubt
If this was repeated, I’d be there again
Predicting her excellence would soon win out
So what’s with the people that they should so choose
A convict, a felon to be President?
A person who’s spelled out the rights we would lose
We people are blind; clearly, that’s evident
I shudder to think of the world wide impact
On our current allies, on our enemies too
The Mid East, the Ukraine, their weapons held back
And NATO and China; just what will Trump do?
It’s mass deportation and camp concentrations
It’s gross retribution, his enemies list
Large tariffs on imports; rich-favored taxations
On, on I could go, but you follow my gist
I expect that the markets most likely will plunge
Against the uncertainty Trump represents
The world, now, is brave, new; when all’s said and done
So gird for whatever the future portends

‘Twas The Eve of Elections
‘Twas the eve of elections when all through the land
All the pundits were telling just where the race stands
I in my PJs, my wife in her smock
Were glued to the TV to see what’s in stock
When all of the sudden there came a loud shout
On TV, when Kamala Harris came out
And there by my widening eyes she appeared
With a message of hope, not a message of fear
She asked for my vote and for your vote bar none
She pledged to be President for everyone
She closed with her now famous cheer-leading line
That it’s time now to fight, and, when we fight, WE WIN!
