Five Days

Five days of voting still remain
Each side is desperate there to gain
The votes of those with unmade minds
Who’s out in front; who’s left behind?

The polls don’t help. They say they’re tied
Besides, they’re wrong most of the time
The turnout’s been beyond belief
Each Party feeling some relief

So where does that leave you and me?
We’ve voted early, now we’re free
To knock on doors; to write, to call
The extra mile, to give it all

Now where I rush no angels tread
Prediction’s pouring from my head
Harris will win with votes to spare
Election true, both clean and fair

NOW

The down-to wire has been reached
All voting ends in just two weeks
The polls are nearly meaningless
Predictions now worth even less

So if you truly are concerned
From past elections I have learned
The thing to do, and I take note,
Is do much more than simply vote

Devote some days, these next two weeks
To taking action, loud it speaks
KamalaHarris.com is where to start
Choose VOLUNTEER to do your part

Democracy is on the line
It’s do or die, now is the time
The time to act on your convictions
Since Harris must win this election

Evil

You know toward people, I’m not one that hates
I may hate what they do and what they cause
Nor do I call them evil; but of late
I’ve come to learn that evil is as evil does

A half a dozen years I’ve witnessed Trump
His unconcern for those who hear the lies
He spoke as President and on the stump
The lies that caused some acolytes to die

But as he’s grown more feeble, body, brain
His lies have turned more vicious, more pronounced
Exacerbating misery from hurricanes
By denigrating FEMA’s strong response

Deliberately, he’s sown misinformation
Where imminent disaster people faced
Thus, causing wrong decisions, true damnation
With life and death in balance, left to fate

Trump’s willingness to disregard his lies’ effects
‘Though they endanger millions’ lives as well
They’ll gain him in November, he expects –
To label him as evil, I’m compelled

VP Candidate Debate

The candidate VPs squared off tonight
And cordial were their gestures and their words
‘Twas Vance and Walz debating, seen and heard
Which could decide the race so very tight

Tim Walz was nervous, accurate, sincere
He told it like it was, his answers clear
J.D. was smooth, a good debater, he
His answers sounded good but full fact free

The audience that counts is really small
It’s those who undecided, still remain
Who view debaters, both, with mild disdain
And always want more facts to make their call

That’s what this late debate was all about
But will it make a difference, that I doubt
