Net Neutrality

The net’s neutrality may next month be no more
Is this a thing that’s good or something to deplore?
It’s really techie-talk. What ever does it mean?
And why to be concerned; how would it impact me?

A neutral internet behaves for all alike
Your internet provider can’t cause your rates to hike
Based on your usage; or change your access speed
Big web sites come up fast while small ones hardly heed

Your internet provider, i.e. your “ISP”
Would have complete control; the net would not be free
Your rates could then depend on usage scope and time
A boon for ISPs, their profits then would climb

The FCC will vote.neutrality to die
Some time near mid December. Its chair is Ajit Pai
But if the public demonstrates sufficiently in kind
Perhaps they’ll get the message and change their narrow minds
