Danger to the World

Matt Lauer, latest victim of the sexual revolution,
Co-anchor of “Today” on NBC, today was canned
Another prime example of my maxim explanation
That power-men with high libido prey because they can

‘Though headlined in the nation’s press, it’s not my prime concern
What worries me is Trump, the man, becoming more delusional
A con man who has conned himself, true facts he always spurns
When they don’t fit his world view; he makes up things ephemeral

And then believes them to be true and makes decisions falsely based
This happens mostly when he’s stressed, a state he’s suffered much of late
He’s borderline psychotic; that’s his sickness that we all must face
And have the will to boot him out or suffer consequential fates

Republicans in Congress couldn’t have a better president
Who doesn’t care what’s in a bill; he’ll sign whatever’s in his sight
He’ll wax profound about a bill and tell us how it’s relevant
To what we want, whereas in fact it is the actual opposite

So neither Congress nor the Vice will act to oust the President
His Twitter storms, his flaunting norms all indicate his ignorance
His lack of fitness for the job increasingly is evident
He is a danger to the world. We must remove his influence

Senate Tax Bill

The Senate’s tax bill cleared committee heading for the Senate floor
And as this happened protestors were loudly shouting “kill the bill!”
And demonstrations by the hundreds at the offices of senators
Throughout the nation citizens who really want this tax bill killed

One trillion and a half it will increase our budget deficits
To lavash billions on the wealthy and what corporations pay
For much of middle class this bill removes important benefits
It raises taxes and it kills the mandate of the ACA

McConnell wants to jam it through; no hearings, neither floor debates
Must get it passed before the public learns how really bad it is
No Democrats permitted in its drafting to participate
It’s Pay-back to their donors who might otherwise support not give

So once again it’s time to let the Senate hear our angry voice
They plan to vote on Friday, if McConnell gets to have his way
By me, this bill is terrible. It’s not at all my bill of choice
And if it passes, all of us will likely live to rue the day

Sea Change

A social sea-change surging in the DC city happenings
Is sending seismic signals through the corridors of Congress
It’s labeled “zero tolerance” of acts that do transgress
Appropriate decorum by a man toward female underlings

There is a fund kept largely secret paid for out of tax receipts
A fund to hush the victims of unwanted sex activities
By Congressmen, toward female staff, who can’t control proclivities
It measures in the millions helping Congressmen maintain deceits

And this is just the iceberg’s tip, those few reported incidents
Flood gates are swiftly opening; as women tell, more women shall
It could shine light on many men and their careers could end as well
Severity of sex harassment isn’t prone to measurement

I would advise the following: first, NDAs and hush moneys
Abolish them entirely, and publish those known incidents
Then change committee rules concerning new unethical events
To make it easier and faster to report harassment deeds

Except for cases so extreme, like rape and pedophilia
Do not take action toward the men, just publicize the findings
Of Ethics Com.’s investigation, no suggestions binding
And let the voter choose: “goodbye” or this time “we’ll forgive ya”

It’s Happening

It’s happening, Mike Flynn’s about to cave
It has been leaked that lawyers for both groups:
That is, for Trump and Flynn who used to share their news
No longer do. Illegal now, they say.

It would appear that Mueller’s flipped Mike Flynn
In trade for softening the charges on Flynn’s son
A tactic tried and true, the way such cases run
But Trump’s un worried still. Flynn’s got no dirt on him

That is the word from lawyer chief, Ty Cobb
What Ty Cobb says, the opposite is true
Because his client is a liar through and through
To represent Don Trump, there is no tougher job

It won’t be long before Don Trump will make his move
Bob Mueller’s getting close; this probe Trump must abort
Especially before Bob flips Paul Manafort
Who’s testimony can provide sufficient proof

To prove what Michael Steele’s full dossier revealed
That Trump’s conspiracy was massive in its scope
Too hard for lawyers, those defending Trump, to cope
Trump’s got to stop this probe before his fate is sealed

Political Thanksgiving

On this, our day of giving thanks
It’s not the time for politics
It’s time to join in food and drinks
With family and friends

That’s not to say there won’t be news
Great Uncle gets his jolly kicks
Expressing his extremists views
In speech that never ends

We suffer that ‘though he’s a crank
Thanksgiving comes but once a year
In politics we do give thanks
Our system will not bend

Our institutions remain strong
Grassroots movements far and near
Opposing bills they see as wrong
It is the current trend

So let’s give thanks politically
That we’ve been blessed fantastically
To live in our democracy
But it, on us depends

Net Neutrality

The net’s neutrality may next month be no more
Is this a thing that’s good or something to deplore?
It’s really techie-talk. What ever does it mean?
And why to be concerned; how would it impact me?

A neutral internet behaves for all alike
Your internet provider can’t cause your rates to hike
Based on your usage; or change your access speed
Big web sites come up fast while small ones hardly heed

Your internet provider, i.e. your “ISP”
Would have complete control; the net would not be free
Your rates could then depend on usage scope and time
A boon for ISPs, their profits then would climb

The FCC will vote.neutrality to die
Some time near mid December. Its chair is Ajit Pai
But if the public demonstrates sufficiently in kind
Perhaps they’ll get the message and change their narrow minds

Season Happenings

Mueller, Mueller everywhere;
Staffers pulling out their hair
In the White House
In the West Wing
All the staffers running scared

More subpoenas, more indictments
Press is breathless with excitement
Who’ll be tried next?
Who is wired?
Who with Russia had involvement?

Russia this and Russia that
Data subject to their hacks
Stolen Emails
Carpet phishing
Cozy Bear is in the act

Trumpees mingling with the Russians
Shades of probable collusion
Secret meetings
Unreported
Under oath, lies in profusion

Steele’s dossier’s detailed depiction
Has proven it’s more truth than fiction
Some salacious
Nothing gracious
Clearly, it’s a source of friction

Entering this turkey season
The dossier does give us reason
While we’re thankful
To be cautious
Likely Trump’s committed treason

Gobbledygook

Let’s talk of tax turkey and gobbledygook
Just listen, they really don’t want you to look
On reading their bill, might you up be all shook
The Republicans know they’ve got you on the hook

The tax breaks for corps. is a waste of your money
The cash they’ve got gathering dust’s more than plenty
It’s not trickled down ‘cause demand there’s not any
It’s middle-class spending makes jobs for the many

The tax bill assumes GDP growth to be
On average four decimal points over three
To staunch debt increases of trillions, indeed
Destruction from hurricanes yearly they’d need

Tax breaks Indian given to M.C. employees
Plus changes to cause premiums to increase
On health-care insurance, the whole industry
And Medicare, Medicaid cuts soon we’ll see

The thing that Republicans all love in mass
Are bills for the wealthy that lower their tax
And who has to pay for it, the middle class
Some form of this bill will eventually pass

Sexually Correct, Part II

Part I of this subject was yesterday’s poem
It gave illustrations of misconduct sexual
That ranged from innocuous, playing a joke
To forcing oneself on teen girls non consensual

All throughout the country in all walks of life
Brave women are speaking, relating such tales
‘Twill be soon endemic, the practice is rife
The question is: really, what is it with males?

The answer that’s short is they do ‘cause they can!
If they’ve got the power, they’ll go with their urge
It’s in their biology, being a man
If they get away with it, more they will splurge

Young women, teenagers try pretty to look
Even if not, still they’re sexy to men
Our social constraints keep most men on the hook
But powerful men can ignore social bans

Such miscreant men other men will admire
For doing what they would themselves like to do
Except for correctness which thwarts this desire
And women who’ll up and report on them too

11/18/17

Sexually Correct Part I

It’s political now to be sexually correct
Respectful, polite with the opposite sex
Except if you’re President these norms don’t apply
Or running for Senate and know how to lie

Twelve women on Trump and on Moore there were eight
Recalled lurid tales of advances unwanted
Convincingly honest what each did relate
Both men claim these stories were falsely invented

There’s also the case against Senator Franken
Who kissed Leeann Tweeden on a USO tour
She agreed to the kiss in the skit they were making
But he came on too strong; he was being a boor

Then there’s also the picture that was taken in jest
While Leeann was asleep on a plane fully dressed
Of Al placing his hands on her vest o’er her breasts
With his head turned around grinning back at the rest

This was stupid Al admitted looking back eleven years
And apologized to Leeann, which she graciously accepted
So, then, why am I discussing this? It’s old news it appears
It’s the prologue to a second poem coming soon it’s expected
