The last word in yesterday’s poelitic was: treasure.
Today, at a loss, I myself am for words
I know, for a poet, that this seems absurd
Be that as it may, I will not be deterred
My comments on happenings won’t be deferred
Obama, today, in his news conference long
Discussed his accomplishments and what went wrong
Toward Putin on hacking there’ll be actions strong
He told his successor: keep calm all along
Trump rallied again on his grand thank-you tour
It took all my patience, his words to endure
His audience loved it, but why I’m not sure
I sought to describe it; my word was manure
The Chinese responded to Trump’s provocations
By stealing an undersea probe innovation
And also by arming an isle in negation
Of promises, scaring some South Asian nations
In times of transition some nations grow bolder
And do things to measure the new office holder
How well he will manage the job that he’s shouldered
Let’s pray Trump improves as his tenure grows older
